Shihan Scott and the team that support him are very pleasant, knowledgeable and fun to be around. There is a strong sense of community and everyone is very welcoming. Scott and his whole crew have been great with our kids. They have helped our daughter become more active and confident and helped our son manage his energy. They have fun every time they go and always look forward to going back. My child recently started kids karate classes and it has been a wonderful experience. The instructors are very patient, friendly, and great with children. They teach the kids not only karate techniques but also important values like respect, discipline, and confidence.

Scott, Jenn and the team are absolutely fantastic. They are patient and kind, but take Karate and the discipline very seriously. This is a very inclusive environment, and watching Cole develop in Karate inspired me (the father) to join. This is a great sport to do as a family, and Okami Kai will work with you to develop at your own pace. The community, respect and discipline this builds is amazing!

We have been taking our son to Okami Kai since the fall. I can honestly say it is one of the best things we have done for him and will continue to do. The structure, the socialization, the principal and the lessons that are taught in a way that a 3 year old can comprehend have been incredible to see. He looks forward to going each week and loves showing off his skills at home. Nothing but good things to say about the lil dragons program and the instructors!

Our family has had a wonderful experience here. The instructors are incredibly supportive, patient, and especially great with kids. They know how to create an environment that is structured and disciplined while still making classes fun and welcoming.
What really stands out is how well they work with younger children. They take something that could feel intimidating or scary for little kids and turn it into an exciting, confidence-building experience. The staff genuinely care about each child’s growth and do a great job encouraging them.
We’ve seen such a positive impact in confidence, focus, and perseverance. We’re very grateful to have found this dojo and would highly recommend it to any family looking for a positive place for their kids to learn martial arts.

We love this program! Well run, organized (app, newsletter….)lots of learning and support for the kids in each class from students with more advanced belts. I love that discipline and participation in chores at home is part of the program as well as reading the handbook and learning the moves. Scott and Jennifer run a tight ship AND make it fun, kids have a blast and they also do occasional extra programming for parents to come meet each other or get away for a date. It’s been great for my 6 & 9 yr olds!

Sensai Jen and Kyoshi Scott are the two best role models my daughter has had. She has been with them for 3 years and her confidence is like day and night from where it began because of their guidance. It is truly an art form, the way they provide such a delicate balance of discipline and accountability, and kindness and empathy. They both lead with their hearts and that is why children have succeeded in their classes for years. They inspire children to be their best selves and especially in this day and age, we need to surround ourselves with grounding experiences like they provide. Karate is important in itself for so many life skills, but having good leaders like them allow our children to be uniquely themselves while being held to a high standard. And most importantly, they believe in the children and that they can meet those standards with hard work.
They also don’t just talk the talk but they walk the walk; consistently bettering themselves by taking child psychology classes to continue to deepen their understanding of children. They truly want to provide an inclusive and empathetic environment.
When I bring my child to Okami Kai, I know that she is safe, respected, and in the best and most capable of hands. What more could a mother ask for?
